The Baroque period provided the city with true jewels, including <strong>Cappella della Sacra Sindone<\/strong>\u00a0and the <strong>San Lorenzo<\/strong> church, and the <strong>Santuario della Consolata<\/strong>. The most important streets in the old city centre are also Baroque in style, including <strong>via Po<\/strong>, <strong>piazza Castello<\/strong> and <strong>piazza San Carlo<\/strong>. Along the banks of the Po, it is possible to visit <strong>Castello del Valentino<\/strong>, now part of the university and standing on a hill that looks down over the city, <strong>Villa della Regina<\/strong> , with its seventeenth and eighteenth century paintings. Also part of the \u201ccorona delle delizie\u201d are <strong>Castello di Rivoli<\/strong>, now the Modern Art museum, and <strong>Reggia di Venaria<\/strong>, which is often referred to as the Savoy family\u2019s \u201cVersailles\u201d. <strong>Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi<\/strong> and <strong>Castello di Moncalieri<\/strong>, one of the oldest residences, are also worthy of visits. The most important is the <strong>Egyptian Museum<\/strong>, considered to be the most important in the world after the one in Cairo, due to the value of its contents. The\u00a0<strong>National Cinema Museum<\/strong>, inside the Mole Antonelliana, the symbol of the city of Turin, is also one of the most important worldwide. Art museums such as the MAO,\u00a0<strong>Museo d\u2019Arte Orientale<\/strong> and the GAM, <strong>Galleria Civica di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea<\/strong>, history museums such as <strong>Museo Pietro Micca<\/strong> and the <strong>Rocca e il Borgo medievale<\/strong>, science museums such as the <strong>Museo di Scienze Naturali<\/strong> can also be visited.
